Concept
DESIGN
The proposed atrium is intended for the open central courtyard area of the museum while still maintaining an open feel with natural daylight. The glass-covered courtyard will be used to display artefacts, with access gates from the front. Double-glazed glass panels will be used to regulate the temperature inside while ensuring proper air circulation.

CURVE BEAM
The courtyard will be covered by glulam curve beams that extend across its entire width. Metal tension supports will be placed along and across each curved beam. Additionally, eight sheets of DGU glass will be installed on top of each pair of curved beams, spanning the entire courtyard.
COLUMN AND END-CONNECTORS
The curved beams will be mounted on top of shorter columns that are anchored to the roof of the museum. Louvres will be installed between the curved beams and the columns to provide ventilation. Longer columns will be positioned in front of the atrium and anchored to the ground.
